Dad, A woman known as Margret Mayanja, who lives with her husband Mr. Mayanja in Lusenke village, was pregnant and on her day of delivery as they were taking her to a nearby maternity clinic about 10miles from Lusenke village something happened. It was around midnight and she was in a serious labor pain and the baby was almost coming. Her husband was taking her on a boda-boda [motor-bike]. When they reached near Lusenke Church house, it started raining with a heavy storm that they could not go any farther. The only help was to take refuge in the Church house. Mayanja knocked at our door to woke us up and we allowed them into the church house, Margret’s time had come and the baby was birthing. Regina [Bishop Bita's wife] called other two Christian neighbors and they helped Margret to deliver her healthy baby girl successfully inside the Church house.
In the following morning, they went back home. Margret got some serious complication of heavy discharge /bleeding which was taking almost two weeks to subside but wehelped her get medical help and she got better. Yesterday during the Sunday morning service, she was able to bring her baby whom they gave a name of Vanessa to the church to be dedicated to God. They agreed with her husband that this child should be brought back to the church house and prayed for by the pastors since she was born in this church house. Before we dedicate the child, I asked Margret if she would like to give her lifeto Christ and be saved. She accepted and with great joy so we led her in a prayer of salvation and then dedicated baby Vanessa to God. It was such a wonderful experience to the whole church. Regina was not around because she had taken Burcham [Bishop Bita's son] to the Hospital, but I took some photos of Vanessa, her Mom, and the other women who helped her during delivery. We also gave her some gifts as we were giving out some gifts to some of our needy Christians as well. She was very happy and appreciated the church so much for their love and support which they gave to her. Mama and Vanessa are nowmembers of Lusenke church of Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God and to our mom Catherine and everyone else for the support toward the Lusenke project. Son Bishop Bita James Oloo [Jimmy}.
